Patron priest of the YSSD, Father Mikhail Mikhail, said they will encourage church teams in local sporting competitions and form sport teams from within to represent the diocese on interstate levels. “Through the guidance and vision of His Grace Bishop Daniel we plan to establish sports fields, tennis courts, volleyball courts and a gymnasium which will cover such things as weight training and physiotherapy” Father Mikhail explains.... There is a need to create a climate in which sports and fitness are for everyone, not just a few, and in which everyone's abilities are tested and respected. On the other front it is also important to provide quality competitive opportunities for our future athletes.
